Hunter 5 and 6 months old!

Okay, wow have I dropped the ball! Im going to try and catch up from September! Shouldn't be a problem right? Only 2 months of catch up to do…. :S! I also realized I forgot to blog about my birthday. Which was August 15, i turned 27. Hunter and I went to the zoo with our friend Kassy and her little girl Lola. Lola is 2 months younger then Hunter.

Getting excited for the zoo!!

(peek-a-boo t-rex I see you)

It was a little cold in the penguin environment, Hunter wasn't too impressed!)

September 2013

September was a very busy month! Hunter is 6 months old. Starting solid foods, which was a adventure and a half. We built our deck and one side of our fence, which took up a lot of my time doing errands and such, gathering supplies that we were lacking from the hardware store. I felt like Hunter and I were driving into the city every day for a month! Which is no exaggeration, we did.  We planted a Spruce tree, which we dug up from Kelly's parents house. They live on a lot of land so we picked a tree we liked and transplanted it to our yard! And it is so cute! I have it decorated with christmas lights as we speek and I LOVE it!!

(My friend Vickie's bar call to be a lawyer, evening party in her parents backyard)

Catch up!

August 17, 2013
This was the day my mom, Hunter, Kobi (our boxer) and I drove out to my parents house from Cochrane, Alberta to Qualicum Beach, BC.
Hunter, Kobi and I would be out there for 17 days. Kelly unfortunalty had to work so was unable to join us. He missed us a lot. My mom flew out the day before our travels so that I wouldn't have to drive by myself. We were going to split the drive up into two days so it wasn't as hard on Hunter. Or atleast that was what we thought.
Our first day wasn't a great travel day. We made it to Golden but there was a very bad car accident just outside Revelstoke that had shut the entire highway down both east and west for 10 hours. This didn't make for a happy baby. By the time we were able to go we made it to Revelstoke at 9:30. It was so late and we were all tired that we tried to stay there but all the hotels were booked and it was pouring rain. Thankfully my mom booked a hotel in salmon arm the week before, so we could continue on to salmon arm with a guarantee we had a room. We made it there at 11. What a long day!
The second day wasn't so bad, we drove for about 3 hours until we arrived to new Westminster where my brother lives with his girlfriend Megan! We stayed there for about an hour. It was really nice seeing them again. We last saw them when Hunter was 3 weeks old.
Happy to be in the hotel room!
               Uncle Drew!
Then we drove to the ferry terminal, it's about an hour and a half to the Island from Vancouver.

                     First ferry ride!

When we were on the island we spent lots of time shopping and hanging out at the lake! It was great!
Hunter was able to meet my Oma and Opa who are my moms parents for the first time! That was pretty special!

Kobi had a great time in the water every day! Digging for rocks is his specialty!

Chillin like a villan in his little pool!

What a rough life this pup has!

On Sept 2 we headed home, my friend Nicole flew out for a couple days and then we would drive back together. It was a fairly uneventful trip back what was great!
                Second ferry ride!

               Made it to Hope!

We made it to Revelstoke!! Hunter is a      happy boy!!

And then we were home within 4 hours. We stopped in lake Louise to get a coffee and something to eat. It was pretty smooth sailing from there! All in all it was a great trip!

Canmore take 2

August 14, 2013
On Wednesday of last week Kelly had the day off so we decided to take advantage of the sunshine and try Grassi Lakes again!
The weather was great! We made it to the top and hung out for a while enjoying the beautiful blue-green lakes and the waterfall!
Hunter did really well! He slept the entire way up and down but was awake at the top so it worked out perfectly!
He lakes were freezing as inviting as they were but glacier fed lakes never warm up no matter how hot it is in the summer. They are beautiful to look at though!

Kobi loved swimming despite how cold it was! He is a brave doggy!

The waterfall on the way up. Since the floods the waterfall has grown to be three times what it normally was before the floods happened! Crazy what Mother Nature can do!

When we got back down we went back to the same pub "The Woods" we went to the weekend before and enjoyed a good beer and some wings before heading out to my birthday supper. My birthday wasn't Wednesday but Thursday. Because Hunter and I are going to Vancouver Island on Saturday and we are picking up my mom for the drive out at the airport on Friday and busy work schedules didn't work for my actual birthday we were celebrating it that Wednesday night!

Kobi was tuckered out!

Lake, Canmore and Family!

On Friday Hunter, Kobi and I went up to my friends cabin for the day on Gull Lake. It was kind of a overcast day so it was super relaxing just to enjoy the indoors. Hunter got to spend lots of quality time with his aunties Nicole and Kayla and lots of love from a good friend Jacinda! We went for a walk, time flew by we has no idea we were gone as long as we were! It was great!

Then, on Saturday Kelly had the day off so we went to Canmore for the day! It started out beautifully! We went to Grassi Lakes for a little hike but about half way up we had to turn around because it started pouring from out of no where.:( But, we made the most of it and went to a local pub "The Wood."
They had amazing food and a good beer!  Both Kelly and I had the salmon burger,so  good!! It stopped raining by the time we got there (of course, that's always what happens) so we sat out on the patio which has a spectacular view of the mountains. :)

On Sunday, we met up with Kelly's parents to have some lunch and they had our nephew Beckett with them. Beckett loves his Papa and Hunter so we got a great shot of the three of them. It was super cute! After lunch we went back to Kelly's parents house and hung out. Alex (Kelly's dad) had a kite so he got that out and Beckett and him flew it for a little while. It hit a tree and Kelly went to the rescue to get it out! Over all this weekend was great! Had good company and good food! What more can you ask for!
